Best Hotel Value in Las Vegas: My Virgin Hotels Review

After an incredible time exploring the Portland Japanese Garden and getting lost in the stacks at Powell’s City of Books, I swapped the Pacific Northwest for the desert heat of Nevada.

After my stay at the Woodlark in Portland, I wanted to find the same boutique energy in a much larger city.

Finding the best hotel value in Las Vegas can feel like a gamble, but after several visits (most recently to see the BSB residency at the Sphere), I’ve found a serious contender.

Whether you are wondering where to stay in Las Vegas for the first time or the tenth, this Vegas hotel guide will help you decide if Virgin Hotels is your perfect match.

Why We Chose Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

We originally decided to stay in the Virgin Hotel because of its proximity to the Formula 1 kart experience and our genuine love for Virgin Voyages cruises. If you are planning a trip for the kart race, you can check out my guide on how to prepare for the F1 experience, and my recommendations for other places to visit during your trip in Las Vegas

While we initially expected a similar “Virgin-branded” experience, it is important to note that this property is affiliated with Hilton as part of their Curio Collection.

This is actually a huge plus because you can earn and use Hilton points here, adding significant value to your stay.

Virgin Hotel Las Vegas Location

The Virgin Hotel Las Vegas is located two blocks from the Las Vegas Strip, about a 25-minute walk, which we found to be a comfortable walk during our visit. It is important to know that the hotel does not offer a shuttle to the Strip.

Does Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Have Parking?

Yes, there is self-parking available in two garages:

  • The Paradise Parking Garage
  • The Harmon Parking Garage.

Note: You can check here the map of the Virgin hotel for the exact locations.

While I don’t recommend renting a car in Las Vegas unless you’re exploring beyond the Strip, as rideshares are very accessible. It’s a great perk if you do have a vehicle.

  • If you plan on exploring beyond the Strip, I recommend comparing rental car prices through DiscoverCars for the best local deals.

The hotel is massive, featuring three distinct towers:

  • The Opal Tower
  • The Canyon Tower
  • The Ruby Tower (This is where we stayed)

Ruby King Room Experience

The Ruby King Room is massive, which is why I consider this one of the best hotel values in Las Vegas options if you appreciate space.

Having that extra square footage is something you will likely look forward to, especially if your stay is longer, as it provides plenty of room to comfortably organize your luggage and spread out without feeling cramped.

Some highlights of the room:

  • This room is perfect for long stays.
  • The bedroom area is separated by a door from the bathroom and closet area.
  • The room was majestic in size and amazingly clean.
  • A “vanity” with a super cool lighted mirror (perfect for doing makeup!).
  • A large, comfortable sofa.
  • The room was amazingly clean.
  • A minifridge filled with drinks (available for an additional fee).

The Bathroom

While the bathroom felt a bit small compared to the massive bedroom, it was exceptionally clean.

A nice touch for Virgin fans: the shower soap, shampoo, and conditioner provided in the shower are very similar to what is offered on the Virgin Voyages cabins.

Does The Virgin Hotel Las Vegas have a Spa?

Yes, there is a spa on-site, but keep in mind that it primarily offers massages, facials, waxing, and body treatments. You will not find the thermal suites that are so iconic to the Virgin Voyages spa.

However, if you want to pamper yourself after a day exploring things to do in Vegas other than gambling (like the F1 kart experience), you can check their full service menu here.

Virgin Hotel Pools in Las Vegas: A Resort Vibe

The Virgin Hotels Las Vegas pool area is where you really see the best Vegas hotel for the money value.

There are three distinct pool areas (typically open March to November):

  • Upper Resort Pool (No additional fee to access it): A smaller adult pool on a top floor with an intimate, calm vibe. This area is packed with lounge chairs and features its own private bar. The standout feature here is the cantilevered pool, which appears to be suspended from the ceiling with a stunning wall made of glass.

  • Family Pool (No additional fee to access it): A large area with a unique sand/beach style entry.
  • Kassi Beach Club: This is the most popular adult-focused “entertainment” pool. While it wasn’t crowded during our stay, you usually need to book a cabana to enjoy this area. Fees typically start at a $150 food and beverage minimum. You can visit the official Kassi Beach Club site for specific seating options.

Vegan Options in the Virgin Hotel Las Vegas

Finding a vegan breakfast in Vegas can be challenging because many of the dedicated vegan spots open late. Within the hotel, we visited:

Funny Library Coffee Shop Virgin Hotel Las Vegas
Funny Library Coffee Shop
  • Funny Library Coffee Shop: We grabbed coffee here in the morning. While they have dairy milk alternatives, the only vegan food options we found were oatmeal packages.
gluten free and vegan pizza in Las Vegas from Pizza Forte in Virgin Hotel
Vegan and gluten-free pizza from Pizza Forte
  • Pizza Forte: Located by the casino, they are open 24/7 and offer Vegan and Gluten-Free (V/GF) options.

There are several other restaurants inside the hotel (you can check the full list of restaurant options here), but we only visited these two because we had plans to explore specific vegan options outside the hotel.

Resort Fee Details

To help you plan ahead, be aware that there is a resort fee of $56.69 per night. This fee includes:

  • High-speed Wi-Fi Access
  • Two (2) Bottles of Water daily
  • Daily Wellness Classes like meditation, yoga, pilates, and sound healing (a fantastic way to stay grounded between all the Las Vegas excitement).

Who is this hotel best for?

This is definitely one of the best hotels in Las Vegas off the strip for:

  1. F1 Fans: It is located in the East Harmon Zone, meaning you are within walking distance of the F1 Pit Building. If you’re coming for the race, this is the best hotel for Las Vegas F1 race enthusiasts.
  2. Calm Seekers: If you want a resort feel with a calmer pool vibe than the chaotic Strip hotels, this is it.
  3. Space Lovers: The Ruby King room is incredibly spacious for the price point.

Final Verdict

Even though the “upscale” level is different from the Virgin Voyages cruises, I would definitely stay again.

The pool area makes you feel like you are at a true resort, and having the option between the high-energy Kassi Beach and the intimate Upper Resort Pool is a huge plus.

For the location and the room size, it is easily one of the best affordable hotels in Las Vegas for those who want luxury without the Strip crowds.
