Like many other cruise lines, Virgin Voyages Cruise 🚢 started the Virgin Voyages loyalty program called “Sailing Club”. If you are curious about the benefits of this program or how you can be eligible for it, you’re in the right place! I’ve simplified everything and how these exclusive benefits can elevate ⤴️ your Virgin Voyages cruise experience.
Overview Of The Virgin Voyages Loyalty Program
The program allows you to earn credits toward your membership every time you complete a qualified sailing. Essentially, every sail equals a credit, and the credit earned is reflected 30 days 🗓️ after your sail is completed.
Note: If you’re sailing on back-to-back cruises, think about enjoying the perks of the programs on your return sail. Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait 30 days for your credit to be reflected.
Eligibility criteria for joining the program
There is a caveat with the “qualified sailing” and it’s important to understand it to earn points towards your reward program. A qualified sailing cannot be a trip booked through the following means:
- A gifted cruise
- Utilizing your casino cruise perks (“comped”)
- Redeeming your airline points
- Certain discounted cruise rate

How To Achieve Virgin Voyages Loyalty Status
Status Match Program
You may benefit from the Virgin Voyages loyalty match program if you already possess a loyal status with another cruise line🛳️ . This offer ends on October 31, 2025, and you must send your request 7 days prior to your trip.
To get Virgin Voyages status match form. If Virgin Voyages accepts your request, you instantly earn Blue Extras status and the second tier in the rewards program.
Sea Blazer
- A status is obtained if you sailed during Virgin Voyages’ inaugural 🎉 year (2021).
- If you’re part of this group, you automatically unlock 🔓 access to the Deep Blue Extra perks (the third and current highest tier).
- This status gives a lifetime $125 Bar Tab bonus 💰 when the Sea Blazer sailor buys a $300 Bar Tab.
Sea Rover
- A status is obtained if you sailed two times between 2022 and 2023.
- If you’re part of this group, you automatically unlock 🔓 access to the Deep Blue Extra perks (the third and current highest tier).
- Currently, this status gives a $100 Bar Tab bonus 💰 to a Sea Rover sailor who buys a $300 Bar Tab.
Tip: Always check Virgin Voyages Terms and Conditions 📋 because this isn’t like the Sea Blazer which offers a lifetime bonus.
Currently, both Sea Blazer and Sea Rover statuses will enjoy the Deep Blue Extras perks until 2025. There are uncertainties about whether Virgin Voyages will continue to honor this DBE after 2025. Or if sailors will be downgraded 📉 to Blue Extras if they don’t complete four qualified sailings.
If you’re starting to learn from the Virgin Voyages cruise, you may find it too late to join the Sea Blazer or Sea Rover status groups. I sailed twice during 2022 and 2023, and I was fortunate to earn and enjoy the Deep Blue Extra perks on my last Voyage in 2024. I’m sharing below my experience with the Sea Rover status and enjoying the Deep Blue Extra perks on board.
Qualified Sailing
Even if you missed the Sea Blazer or Sea Rover status, you still have the opportunity to earn membership in the Virgin Voyages loyalty program. Currently, Virgin Voyages offers Blue Extra and Deep Blue Extra rewards based on the completed qualified trips. The more you sail, the greater 📈 your chances to earn your membership and enjoy all the amazing perks that come with it.
Virgin Voyages Loyalty Program Membership Tiers
Earning a membership is the way Virgin Voyages rewards their frequent cruisers (since 1 January 2024). The Loyalty program features three tiers designed to enhance the cruise experience.
First Tier: Virgin Voyages Sailing Club Membership
How do you earn it? You become a member after completing your first 🥇 voyage.
What are the benefits? Honestly, the Virgin Voyages Sailing Club tier doesn’t have too much benefit. You’ll gain:
- Access to exclusive offers via email.
- Alert about promotions through email.
- Quarterly newsletter sent directly to your inbox.
Second Tier: Blue Extras
How do you earn it? You enjoy this membership on your third and fourth voyages. If you hold a loyal status with another cruise line, you can also request a Virgin Voyages status match to gain a Blue Extras membership.
What are the benefits? The Blue Extra tier is where you start enjoying some benefits. Here’s what you can expect:
- All the same benefits of being part of a Sailing Club tier
- +One specialty coffee ☕️ per day
- +Acess to an exclusive cocktail 🍹 event (your cabinmate can participate even if they don’t have the Blue Extras membership).
- +One bag of complimentary Laundry 🧺 Service (your cabinmate can also enjoy this perk, as it covers as much clothing as fits in the laundry bag).
- +Access to dedicated sailor services support.
Third Tier: Deep Blue Extras
How do you earn it? You start enjoying this membership on your fifth voyage. You can also earn this membership if you’re a Sea Blazer or a Sea Rover.
What are the benefits? The Deep Blue Extra tier is the highest level and offers the most valuable benefits on Virgin Voyages. You’ll gain:
- The same benefits of being part of the Sailing Club tier
- +Two specialty coffee ☕️ per day (one more compared to Blue Extra)
Note: You can order your specialty coffee in any of the two coffee bars or restaurants. However, this specialty coffee cannot be redeemed using the Ship Eats services. Additionally, you cannot use it to redeem cocktails that contain coffee, such as their famous expresso martini.
DON’T FORGET TO READ:
- +Access to an exclusive cocktail 🍹 event (your cabinmate can participate even if they don’t have the Blue Extras membership. Because check-in for the event is based on cabin number).
The event is typically held at The Perch on Deck 17, though there was one occasion when the cocktail 🍹 party took place at On The Rocks on Deck 6. DBE Sailors will enjoy complimentary champagne and sangria (as many as you want) while an acoustic artist performs for about an hour.
Note: When you enter your cabin on the embarkation day, you’ll receive a letter detailing the time and location of this event.
- +$100 Bar Tab 💰 credit to use onboard for any premium drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
- +Access benefits from unlimited premium Wi-Fi 🛜 (one device at a time).
- +Two pressed items, one specialty cleaned bag, and one bag of complimentary Laundry 🧺 Service (as mentioned above your cabinmate can also enjoy this perk).
Note: The laundry service is unavailable on the voyage’s final day so be sure to plan to take advantage of this benefit.
- +Priority boarding on embarkation day (your cabinmate can benefit from this perk). I love this perk because, even though you must select a boarding time, you’ll skip ⏭️ the line and board right after the Splash Romance 💘 group.
Tip: Boarding early means you’ll get early access to Virgin Voyages Wi-Fi. Once you access the Wi-Fi set your phone to airplane ✈️ mode and connect to the VV Wi-Fi. This way, the app will show the onboard shows and reserve popular shows before they get filled up.
- +Access to dedicated sailor services support.
Note: The dedicated sailor support hours vary, just ensure you check your cabin welcoming letter for your corresponding service hours. My assigned service hours were; 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on embarkation day and 9-11 AM and 5-7 PM on port sea days.

The Virgin Voyages 🚢 loyalty program truly shines with the Deep Blue Extra, where you start experiencing valuable perks. Currently, Virgin Voyages anticipates honoring the Deep Blue Extra status to Sailor Blazer and Sea Rover but this might change after 2025.
To guarantee the Deep Blue Extra perks on Virgin Voyages, remember that after completing four qualified sails, you’ll be eligible to enjoy the Deep Blue Extra benefits on your fifth trip. This is Virgin Voyages’ way of rewarding their loyal sailors, and I hope they keep these benefits beyond 2025.
