Photographs On Virgin Voyages
Unlike traditional cruise lines, Virgin Voyages Cruise does not have crew members snapping photos at every corner. The good news is that no one will be harassing you to buy your cruise photos.
This frees you up to explore and discover the most Instagrammable spots on Virgin Voyages at your own pace. While it means you’ll need to be proactive about snapping those perfect shots, it also allows you to create your unique collection of cruise pic ideas.
Gears To Bring On Board To Take Pictures On Virgin Voyages
For capturing those Insta-worthy moments, I typically rely on my iPhone to snap the Instagrammable spots on Virgin Voyages. I also bring my compact Sony RX100 M7 camera, which helps me achieve stunning photos, and it’s very lightweight to carry around.
Note: Virgin Voyages’ policy does not allow you to bring a drone on board. If you try to bring a drone, it will be held and returned to you when you disembark at your final destination.
Instagrammable Spots on Virgin Voyages: Cruise Picture Ideas
Virgin Voyages has four Lady Ships with a very similar deck layout, and most of these cruise photo ideas can be applied to all the Lady Ships (except the Unique Art by The Social Club, which stands out on its own).
DON’T FORGET TO READ:
1. Virgin Voyages Anchors in The Miami Cruise Port
Location: If you’re boarding from the Miami cruise port, you’ll find the Virgin Voyages anchor on the second floor, right before the check-in booth on your boarding day.
Best time to take pictures of the Virgin Voyages Anchor at Miami Cruise Port? The Virgin Voyages anchor is only accessible on boarding day because when you disembark, you’ll no longer have access to this area.
2. The Red Hammock In The Cabin
Location: The red hammock is a standout feature of most Sea Terrace cabins on Virgin Voyages, making it an iconic Instagrammable spot on Virgin Voyages. Remember that when planning your next trip, consider this unique element as a must-have in your selected cabin.
Note: Make sure you choose your cabin wisely because there are some cabins without the red hammock. Typically, the sea terrace and XL sea terrace located on the forward side of the ship don’t come with the red hammock.
Best time to take pictures of the Red Hammock In The Cabin? This is your cabin, and you can take photos at any time. However, for unique cruise photo ideas, I recommend capturing the perfect shot during Sunrise or sunset when the lighting is perfect.
3. Pink Agave Restaurant
Location: This unique tunnel, decorated with impressive lighting on deck 5, is the entrance of the Pink Agave, which is the Mexican vibe restaurant on board.
Best time to take pictures at the Pink Agave Restaurant? I recommend that you plan to shoot in the Pink Agave tunnel anytime before 5:45 pm, since it’s the time the restaurant typically opens.
4. The Wake Restaurant
Location: I think The Wake has the most elegant stairs on the cruise. These stairs are located on deck 7, right at the main entrance of The Wake restaurant, which is a steakhouse and seafood restaurant.
Best time to take pictures at The Wake restaurant? The Wake also hosts brunch, which limits your opportunity to capture an Instagrammable shot on Virgin Voyages. This area gets busy, so I recommend that you avoid taking photos between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm and after 5:45 pm.
5. The Manor
Location: The entrance to The Manor on deck 7 is the most iconic hall onboard. This distinctive entryway leads you to the cabaret-style nightclub, making it one of the prime photo ideas on a cruise ship.
Best time to take pictures at The Manor? The Manor Hall is the busiest spot of the Lady ships, especially as shows typically start around 7:30 pm. My experience is that this area is filled with sailors trying to capture their perfect photo. If you happen to be walking by The Manor before showtime and it’s quiet, take advantage of it to get your Instagrammable photo on board.
6. Voyage Vinyl Record Shop
Location: The onboard voyage vinyl record shop is located on deck 7 by the Draught Haus. This spot is sometimes missed, and it’s where the DJs are located spinning tunes on embarkation day. If you are into the music vibe, don’t miss your Instagrammable photoshoot and pose like you’re mixing some tracks.
Best time to take pictures at Voyage Vinyl Record Shop? Check the daily schedule on board and the best window for your Instagram travel photography is when the voyage vinyl record shop isn’t in session.
7. Unique Art By Social Club
Location: Each Lady Ship showcases a unique art piece by the social club, making them a must-visit Instagrammable spot on Virgin Voyages. The Scarlet Lady features four colorful swings adorned with signs with messages like: live, “breath”, “laugh”, and “love”. Meanwhile, the Resilient Lady, you’ll find seahorse-themed swings, which make the perfect spot for your photos.
Best time to take pictures at the Unique Art By Social Club? You can take your cruise photoshoot anytime on board. However, I would recommend avoiding the Scarlet Night, which typically gets extra busy in this area.
8. Pothole At The Redemption Spa
Location: The pothole at the Redemption Spa is one of my favorite Instagrammable Spots on Virgin Voyages. Located on Deck 5 and access requires a reservation. Typically, port days are cheaper than sea days. The last time I sailed on Virgin Voyages, it was at $59 for port day and $79 for sea day.
Best time to take pictures of the Pothole at the Redemption Spa? If you book either on sea day or port day, you’ll get access to the thermal suites for up to 3 hours, which is plenty of time for a perfect Instagram photoshoot and to enjoy the thermal suites spa. I recommend any time slot before lunchtime to ensure you capture your perfect shots without interruption. Also, port days tend to be less crowded than sea days.
9. Virgin Voyages Sign
Location: To capture that iconic shot with the Virgin Voyages sign, you’ll need to head to deck 17.
Best time to take pictures of the Virgin Voyages Sign? You can take photos at the Virgin Voyages sign at any time. However, I find the photos taken during the golden hours of sunrise and sunset result in the most stunning.
Note: Be careful that you’re not disrupting the sailors running because this area is the onboard Jogging Track.
10. Virgin Voyages Binocular
Location: The Virgin Voyages binoculars are located on Deck 16 near the Sun Club Café on both sides of the Ladyship.
Best time to take pictures with the Virgin Voyages binoculars? The Virgin Voyages binoculars are vacant pretty much most of the time. But to get your best Instagrammable shots, I recommend you take your photos at sunrise and sunset.
11. Coconut At Bimini Beach Club
Location: If your itinerary sails from Miami, you’ll probably make a stop at the Bimini Beach Club. Here you can buy a refreshing coconut water with a charming, stamped message that makes a great prop in your Instagram travel photography.
Best time to take pictures with the Coconut at Bimini Beach Club? Arrive at the Bimini Beach Club as soon as you can! The Virgin Voyages Happening cast hosts a lively pool party starting at 1 pm, and it gets busy to capture your Instagrammable photoshoot.
To Wrap up
Remember to explore the Virgin Voyages to find more unique locations for even more photo ideas on your trip. Don’t forget the timing because this way, you can avoid the crowds and capture the perfect cruise photoshoot without interruption.
