A friend called me because she sells jewelry products online but has never blogged on her site. She wanted to know the benefits of having a blog for business and whether it was too late to start blogging.
I told her “You have no clue how many opportunities you’re missing by not having a blog for your business! But don’t worry because you’re not too late to start blogging on your business.”
Let’s be real, most of us look for answers online. We prefer to “Google it” rather than call any business to ask any question. Think about it, how many times have you searched online to get an answer on the business website? YOU KNOW THAT’S TRUE!
Starting a blog on my business has helped me build my brand, and connect with a loyal audience. And that’s not all, blogging has been a powerful tool because it has helped me generate additional income.

Purpose Of A Blog For Business: Defining Your Business Voice
Blogging is a platform that will give you visibility and provide you access to a vast audience. However, you can’t forget that even if you can reach people, you need to ensure they remember you. That is when you take advantage of using bloggers for business to create your unique voice and brand identity.
This is crucial for you to stand out in any competitive industry, no matter the niche you’ve chosen. One way is by establishing a strong identity and what I mean by this is not only the selecting color or logo for your website. Establishing your identity goes beyond that, for instance, to ensure that your audience remembers you use consistent tone in your content, style, and message across your blog posts. Like if your business is educational services then maintain a professional and authoritative tone. That way your audience will always recognize you no matter how they find any of your content.
The Advantages Of Starting A Blog For Building A Community
You can use the blog on your business website to provide helpful information to your audience. Not only that, you can get marketing research information by getting direct input and engagement from your audience.
Today is the day to start blogging in your business!
When you do, begin motivating your audience to interact with your content. For example, you can ask them questions within your blog, and at the end, you can encourage them to comment in the comment section. Then, you can use it to improve the products or services you provide to your audience.
Another benefit of a blog for your business is using it to foster trust and credibility. You can use blogs to share real stories and tips with your audience. Not only that you can also use blogging to be transparent with your readers and share with them changes in your business that can affect them. For example, if you use your website to sell products you need to be open about any sponsored or partnership to maintain your credibility.
Get Traffic And Awareness
I’m sure that if you have a website for your business you’re always looking for ways to get visibility. Another aspect of blogging for your business is to attract more audience when you use the correct steps to optimize your content. The advantage of optimizing for search engines is to attract traffic organically. This means that you don’t have to pay for ads to increase the visibility of your website.
I’m pretty sure that you are looking for ways to advertise your business without having to pay additional costs. You can boost your website traffic by following search engine optimization practices. For starters, ensure you use the correct keywords, add links within your site, and fill out those meta tags. Who does not want to get more traffic for FREE? That is the beauty of using Blogger for business to boost traffic organically.
Traffic via Social Media
Another method, I used to get visibility and drive traffic organically to my website is by using social media. I have a lot of content on my website that I repurposed for my social media account. For example, I have been using Pinterest to post some of my tips and tricks. Then, I am adding my website link so when people click on my Pinterest pins they get straight to my site.
So you don’t have to use Pinterest that is an example that I use because my audience typically is on that social media platform.
What I recommend you do is to look for social media platforms where your audience is more active.
For example, if you develop and share digital courses I’m pretty sure most of your audience can be found on YouTube. On the other hand, if you are in the travel lifestyle niche you can use Instagram stories to drive traffic organically to your website.
Monetary Benefits Of Blog
Did you know that you can monetize the content you post on your website besides the services or products you offer to your audience?
This is another helpful and convenient way to see the benefits of a blog for your business. Financially speaking it’s a smart move and if you have not been blogging. Then again my friend, you are missing an opportunity to get a passive revenue stream.
You might be wondering how you can get additional income through blogging. So the first thing that you need to understand is who is consuming your products to ensure that you are developing content in which your audience feels connected with your business.
For example, let’s say you sell digital ebooks for tips on traveling under budget. So you can partner with budget airlines, or hostel chain companies, create blog posts around them, and get paid through their affiliate program or sponsored content. Every time your audience buys an airline ticket or books a hostel via your blog you’ll get a commission.
Evergreen Content
The great benefits of a blog for your business is that you can create certain types of content that are considered evergreen.
Evergreen content is material that continues to drive traffic and generate income for months or even years after you have published it on your blog.
Evergreen content is a type of content that does not change as time passes by. Typically websites related to food recipes, or travel or beauty products are considered Evergreen. For example, for traveling you can post content about tips and recommendations for when visiting a specific city. For food, it can be sharing blog recipes for baking without eggs. Can you imagine still getting a commission for a post you posted several years ago?
My friend, there are plenty of reasons why your business needs a blog and the advantages will have a lasting impact on your success. If you don’t have a website for your business yet and are planning to start one for your business. Then check out the top 10 mistakes to avoid in your first blog post.
