In this blog, I’ll highlight five restaurants with vegan options Jacksonville FL, where you can eat vegan dishes, along with some helpful tips to customize meals to fit your lifestyle. Plus, I’ll share my personal thoughts on each restaurant to guide your culinary 🍽️ experiences.
*This post reflects my personal experiences and opinions. It is not sponsored or paid for by any company.
Disclaimer: I am vegan and gluten-free by preference. This information reflects my personal experience and is not intended as dietary advice. I also mentioned some non-gluten-free options that my husband enjoyed, so always confirm the ingredients with crew members.
1. Fla Juice & Bowl: A Vegan-Friendly Brunch Spot
If you’re looking for a fantastic start to your day, I recommend visiting Fla Juice & Bowl. This cafe is well-known for its delicious smoothies and acai bowls. They serve primarily fruit-based dishes, but they are not entirely vegan. However, you can easily customize several ingredients to create a vegan-friendly 🌱 meal.
Fla Juixe & Bowl has two convenient locations:
- San Marco
- Jacksonville Beach
Note: I find parking at the San Marco spot with easier access. But I still suggest visiting the Jacksonville Beach location because it’s within walking distance from the Jacksonville Beach 🏖️ area.
Fla Juice & Bowl menu. My favorite is the original acai bowl, featuring a delightful blend of acai, banana 🍌, strawberry 🍓, and apple 🍎 juice. It’s topped with strawberries, blueberries, bananas, goji berries, granola, and coconut flakes. Just remember to request no 🚫 honey for the vegan version!
The other option is the vegan poke bowl, which is served with sweet onions, scallions, and sesame seeds over white rice. For an extra charge 💰, you can add tofu and vegan aioli sauce, but they are not labeled as gluten-free.
What I like 👍🏼:
- The regular-sized bowl is more than enough to fill you up.
- The fresh and vibrant flavors make it a perfect choice for a refreshing meal on a hot day.
If we get back to this vegan-friendly brunch spot, we will definitely go back for the acai bowls, as they truly shine in that area.
2. V Pizza: Best Vegan Pizza In Jacksonville, FL
If you’re searching for the best vegan pizza 🍕 in the Jacksonville area, then V Pizza is a must-go place. This spot specializes in artisan pizzas, with most of their ingredients from Italian sources. They have a high-temperature oven that cooks the pizza quickly and perfectly.
V Pizza has several locations in the Jacksonville area, but I usually visit the one on San Marco and their newer spot at Gate Parkway. Both locations have a SideCar next door, which is their bar 🍻 option.
Note: You can order your vegan pizza in the V pizza area, and the friendly staff will deliver it to your table, even if you decide to relax at the SideCar bar area.
The V Pizza menu offers the “vegetariana” pizza, which can be customized with their delicious vegan cheese. This pizza comes topped with marinated artichoke, fresh mushroom 🍄🟫, spinach, grape tomato 🍅, and garlic.
The pizzas are flavorful, and you can customize them with their three crust options:
- Gluten-free crust (vegan)
- Cauliflower crust (not 🚫 vegan)
- Wheat flour crust (vegan)
I’ve noticed that the service at the Gate Parkway location has been outstanding during my last three visits compared to the San Marco location. Given that San Marco is busier, the staff there struggle to maintain that same level of service. Plus, the wait time at Gate Parkway is impressively short.
V Pizza must be on your radar if you’re looking for restaurants with vegan options Jacksonville FL! I really like the laid-back vibe at the SideCar, plus the delicious vegan pizza alongside my favorite cider.
3. Salsa Cocina Mexicana: Top Choice among Restaurants with Vegan Options Jacksonville, FL
If you’re on the hunt for Mexican 🇲🇽 restaurants with vegan options Jacksonville, FL, Salsa Cocina Mexicana is one of my top choices. There are several Salsa Cocina Mexicana locations, but I usually head to their Baymeadows📍spot.
The Baymeadows has an inviting outdoor area, perfect for enjoying a tasty vegan Mexican dinner while bringing along your furry 🐾 babies.
The Menu at Salsa Cocina Mexicana offers a variety of dishes that can easily be customized to a vegan style. I typically order the Rice Bowl Veggie (gluten-free). It’s a delicious mix of rice 🍚, black beans 🫘, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole 🥑, and roasted corn 🌽. Just remember to request no 🚫 cheese and no 🚫 sour cream to keep it vegan!
My husband typically opts for the Vegetarian Burrito 🌯, which includes a blend of rice 🍚, black beans 🫘, guacamole 🥑, tomatoes 🍅, bell pepper 🫑, corn 🌽, lettuce, and onions 🧅. For a vegan version, simply ask for no 🚫 sour cream and no 🚫 shredded cheese.
What I like 👍🏼:
- The food tastes fresh and isn’t the greasy experience you might expect from typical Mexican cuisine.
- The food is authentic and they serve generous portion sizes.
DON’T FORGET TO READ:
What I don’t like👎🏼:
- One downside is that the service can sometimes be lacking, on occasions, our waiter forgets to offer water or check-in during our meal.
The vibe and pleasant atmosphere also add to the experience, making Salsa Cocina Mexicana a standout among Mexican restaurants with vegan options Jacksonville FL.
4. Pho Today: A Non-Vegan Restaurant with Excellent Vegan Options
Another restaurant with vegan options Jacksonville FL is Pho Today, which is located at 9700 Deer Lake. This spot is perfect for when you’re craving a delicious Vietnamese noodle soup, especially because it can be challenging to find Vietnamese broth made without 🚫 meat.
In my opinion, Pho Today serves the best Vietnamese food I’ve tasted in Florida, and it’s my husband’s top favorite when it comes to Asian soups. Every time we’ve visited, the restaurant is packed with people from various cultures; you can really tell is a famous place in Jacksonville FL.
The Pho Today menu has several dishes that can be customized to a vegan 🌱 style. We have tried several dishes, but I recommend:
- The tofu noodle soup 🍜 with rice noodles
- The vegetable fried rice (ask for no 🚫 egg for the vegan version).
What I like 👍🏼:
- The tofu noodle 🍜 soup is good because the broth is very savory, and they add a lot of delicious vegetables. They even provide a separate plate of bean sprouts, lime 🍋🟩, and basil to enhance your noodle soup.
- Portions are generous, and you might find that sharing dishes is the way to go!
- Despite being a typically packed restaurant, the service is attentive and friendly, making dining here a pleasant experience.
5. Noom Thai Bistro: A Hidden Gem For Vegan Options In Jacksonville
Noom Thai Bistro is, in my opinion, a hidden gem 💎 and arguably the best Thai restaurant with vegan options in Jacksonville, FL. It’s located at 8642 Baymeadows Rd and it’s my go-to spot whenever I’m craving Asian cuisine.
This place is well known for its unique “magic” drink, which is a butterfly pea flower tea (blue color) that transforms to a pink color when you add a shot of lime juice.
What I like 👍🏼:
- It’s the only restaurant in Jacksonville where I feel comfortable enjoying my meal without being worried about cross-contamination.
- The staff’s expertise regarding allergens sets a high standard that every restaurant should aim 🎯 to meet.
I’ve tried various dishes, but I always end up eating the same dishes since they are my favorites from the Noom Thai Bistro menu. I start with the Tom Yum soup made of a delicious clear broth and I opt to add steamed tofu (mild spice level).
Then, I always order two dishes to share with my husband.
- First is the mouthwatering drunken noodle made with wide rice noodles, a homemade chili paste, basil, carrot 🥕, broccoli 🥦, bell peppers 🫑, and onions 🧅 (mild spice level). For the vegan version, request tofu, no 🚫 egg, and no 🚫 oyster sauce.
- Second is the Wok stir-fried Thai Jasmine rice with carrots, onions, and broccoli (mild spice level). Again, to make it vegan, ask for tofu and no 🚫 egg.
Out of all the fried rice I’ve sampled in the Jacksonville area, this dish stands out as the most flavorful and delicious. For anyone seeking exceptional Thai restaurants with vegan options Jacksonville FL, Noom Thai Bistro is a must-visit!
