Things to Know About Finding Food in Barcelona

Before we jump into the restaurants, here are helpful basics when planning vegan meals in Barcelona:

  • Breakfast: typically starts around 9:00–10:00 AM
  • Lunch: usually served 1:00–4:00 PM
  • Dinner: generally starts at 8:00 PM onward
  • Try to avoid restaurants with picture menus around major tourist spots because these tend to be more expensive and less authentic.
  • Many restaurants are closed on Mondays, so double-check hours.
  • Restaurants have a Spanish menu. However, most of them provide an English menu upon request.

Disclaimer: I am vegan and gluten-free by preference. This information reflects my personal experience and is not intended as dietary advice. I also mentioned some non-gluten-free options that my husband enjoyed, so always confirm the ingredients with the restaurants.
