What Does Blogger Mean?
Before we dive into depth, I want to give a short definition of bloggers. A blogger typically is a single person who creates content on a blog. In general, the content that a blogger creates in the blog is to share thoughts, abilities, and experiences on a particular topic.
There are several types of bloggers, like Lifestyle targeting people interested in enhancing everyday life. Travel bloggers target people who seek advice for their journeys. Food bloggers target people looking for culinary inspiration.

How Bloggers Make Money?
Now that you have a better understanding of a blogger’s meaning, we need to talk about how bloggers earn money. My friend, that is the beauty of blogging. If anyone had told me that I could get paid while sharing my passion, I would not have believed it.
As a blogger, you have different options to monetize your content.
One way bloggers get paid is by displaying ads on their blogs. Another way is creating sponsored content or affiliate marketing content. As a blogger, you can also take advantage of the digital marketing world by selling online courses or digital products. The best thing about these options is that you don’t have to show your face if you don’t want to.
In my blog, I cover the top ways to monetize your blog and how bloggers make money from views and collaborate with brands to boost income.
Essential Tools for Bloggers
Cameras and Equipment:
The equipment a blogger needs varies based on the niche you’ve selected. For example, if you are a food blogger and want to show step-by-step recipes then you will need a camera to film, the process. If you are in the travel niche you might need to add a drone for aerial photography. If you are in the fashion niche you might need a tripod and ring lights.
As a blogger, I film and take pictures with my mobile phone because the camera does a good job. I also use an external microphone to get better audio for my digital courses. So if you have a limited budget you might do the same.
Editing Apps:
Independently of your blog niche, you will always need to add multimedia to make your content engaging. So what app do bloggers use to edit photos and videos?
Before uploading any photo or video 📹 on my blog, I use some apps to edit them. The first one is Canva and I use it to adjust photo brightness, contrast, and saturation. I also use Canva to create eye-catching videos.
Once I have edited my multimedia I use two different tools: Img2go and Handbrake. Img2go tool to reduce photo file size without affecting the quality. Handbrake to reduce video file size without sacrificing the quality. These are not the only apps available explore other options that fit your needs.
Blogging Platforms:
There are various platforms available for bloggers, going from free to paid plan options. Some of the free blogging platforms include wordpress.com, blogger, and medium. Some of the paid blogging platforms include Wix, wordpress.org, and Squarespace. I’m using WordPress with Bluehost for hosting. I picked the Plus plan, but you can achieve similar results with the Basic plan
When selecting your platform, assess them on how much control you want over design and content creation. Consider how you plan to monetize the content created. Also, how much funding do you have available to invest in your blogging business?
The Future Of Bloggers
If you are considering getting into the blogging journey, my friend don’t be afraid because the blogging world is not death. The future of this community is expected to keep growing. Think about it my friend, when was the last time you picked up your phone to call a business to ask a question? It has been a long time, and the reason is that you have been getting your answers via bloggers on the Internet.
My recommendation is to select a focused niche in which you have expertise, that way it’s easy for you to create content. Also, ensure you deliver quality content, and take advantage of tools available to edit your multimedia files.
