Why Monetizing Your Blog is Beneficial?

As you might know, you can earn revenue from any type of content. Now the question is why monetize your blog website specifically? Given that there are other online platforms to choose from. For example YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or other social media.

What I love about blogging is that I’m creating a path to financial freedom. The reason is very simple my friend. I can create a blog post from anywhere in the world and get any profit when my audience visits my website.

I don’t even have to be online 24/7 to my website because the blog posted on my website works automatically for me.

Now, I don’t want you to think that you can post any nonsense content on your website and expect to get a profit. I have to bring you down to earth.  Because to make money from your blog you must provide something in exchange to your visitors.

What you will trade with your audience must be valuable information for them. In other words, your content needs to solve a problem they might have. Otherwise, this trading is not fair for your visitors, and they won’t continue consuming your content. So, always keep your audience in mind when creating any blog post. What Does Blog Monetization Mean?

Monetization is when you get any monetary benefit from anyone who consumes your content. There are several ways to get a source of income which I am going to be explaining. For now, I want you to understand the term before you dive in. Since not all monetization options might be appropriate for your blog website.

The first thing you must consider when seeking to monetize your blog is your target audience.

You need to focus first on establishing a loyal audience that will be visiting your website. If you don’t have traffic no one will be consuming your content, and you will not get any revenue.

You need to know what your audience is looking for. If you don’t understand what they need. Then, you will not be able to engage with your audience. Not only that, you need to know your audience because some people prefer to consume content in different formats. For example, some people prefer videos, others prefer ebooks and others prefer infographics. Make sure you research these criteria before you start quickly monetizing your blog.

Various Ways to Monetize Your Blog

Affiliate Marketing: Get Profit While You Recommend

I’m pretty sure you have heard of affiliate marketing. But for those that have not heard before. As a blogger, you can join programs like Amazon affiliates or any other affiliate program to earn commissions on any products.

If you are on social media, you see a lot of reels and posts about products and then they say something like see the link in my bio. The link is the affiliate program, in which if you purchase through their link, they will get a commission.

It’s crucial to choose affiliate programs that align with your audience. Not only that, when you create content, you must also be authentic. I recommend you only endorse products you genuinely believe in. For example, if you focus on a travel niche, you can collaborate with airlines, hotels, booking platforms, and travel gear companies that you would consume.

Sponsored Posts: Collaborate with Brands

Similar to an affiliate marketing program, you create content and get profit from sponsored posts. The difference with a sponsored post is that you collaborate with a brand. For example, you write a blog review for a beauty company. For that blog post, you will get some profit. Influencers typically use this method because companies want to work with those who have an established audience.

If you are pursuing this monetization option, then you must ensure that you have loyal followers. Once you have established traffic to your website, you can utilize those metrics to demonstrate that you have an audience for any brand. The best way to approach your chosen brand is by email. Then, express to them that you admire their product and you are interested in collaborating with them. In the email show them, your web traffic to show that they will benefit from working with you. Since the content that you create on your website has high visibility.

Monetize your blog with ads

Another way that you can earn money from your blog traffic is with ads. There are several available, but one that I am aware of is Google AdSense. With this program, you can earn revenue when a person clicks ads within your content.

So, you might be saying, Joenid this is awesome! My friend, I am not against this program. But my recommendation is to avoid using ads if you’re still building your audience. Because aesthetically speaking you will have a lot of ads that might not look pretty on your website. Although you can ask Google AdSense to remove some of them you don’t have a call on what is truly advertised on your website.

Google AdSense generates the ads based on your targeted content or audience. I highly recommend you avoid enrolling in ad programs until you have a loyal audience.

However, if you still want to monetize your blog with Google ads. Then, ensure your content is correctly optimized to help Google understand your website. Because you want to ensure that the ads on your content are relevant to your niche and audience.

Make Money in Your Blog With Digital Products

Another method to make money on your website is with digital products. This is the one that I have been getting the majority of my revenue with my digital courses. But you necessarily don’t have to create a course, there are other options for you to explore. For example, you can create digital journals, digital planners, and eBooks.

What I love about this monetization method is that I create a digital product,  I have automized my store and I’m earning while sleeping. This is an excellent way to generate a passive income. However, you will need to spend several weeks or months creating your digital product, before you get any results.

Offer Your Skills: Turn What You Know into Cash

The last way blogging can make you money is by offering your knowledge and expertise. I have seen this typically with freelance writing, or coaching. For example, you are a guru on keyword research and finding a competitive keyword for any niche. Then, you can offer your services and get some cash from it. Another example;  you are a motivational coach and typically blog about topics related to motivating people. In this scenario, you can also offer coaching services, for example, 1-hour motivational coaching services.

The only downfall of this one, in comparison with the digital products.  In digital courses, you earn even while sleeping. However, with leveraging your skills you don’t get any earnings until you complete the service. So, this one requires constant involvement from your end.

Going back to the keyword research guru example. One way to promote this service on your website is by posting blogs about the importance of selecting the right keyword. Then, within your blog, you can add a link to your services for people who struggle to find the right keyword.

If you want to quickly monetize your blog. Then always choose a monetization strategy with your audience in mind and set realistic expectations!
